These are some of the different dollies that I use. Most of them are the good dollies that are hardened steel and some are the cheap ones that are soft steel. I have taken a grinder to the inexpensive dollies for when I needed a certain shape. A hardened dolly will not dent like the soft ones when they are hit with a hammer. There really is a difference between the two. So when you are ready to purchase some and you see one of those hammer and dolly sets for twenty bucks, it will have the soft dollies.

You can tell the one that I use the most because it is shiny. It was my Grandfathers back in the 1940’s when he worked in a body shop. You will also notice some ball peen hammer heads and a large old wedge.

eBay is a great source to find them. I have seen Craftsman, Snap-On , Mac, Fairmount and Martin up for auction on eBay. Plus you can find a lot of older dollies that you just can’t find any more. Fournier Enterprises is a good source
