The body work continues. We finished the filler work on the left quarter panel and then we sprayed another coat of epoxy primer over the entire quarter panel to protect it while we work on the other areas. The quarter panel will eventually be sprayed with a urethane primer.

We also have been doing some work to the inside trunk floor because it is visible. If you have been following along you might remember that the trunk floor was sprayed with Zero-Rust primer after it was sandblasted but the metal was still heavily pitted from the rust. We sanded most of the Zero-Rust coating off and applied a thin coat of body filler to smooth out the rust pits. We then applied two coats of urethane primer surfacer to the floor. You might be wondering why we didn’t use epoxy primer on the trunk floor. The reason is that epoxy primer and the Zero-Rust coating are not compatible with each other. The epoxy primer will soften the Zero-Rust and the epoxy will never cure.

This is the left quarter panel after the filler work was finished and one coat of epoxy primer.
