The body is now setting on the frame and all of the body to frame bolts have been installed. The doors were installed so that we could shim the body to and get the doors aligned.

The body is now setting on the frame. The lower “A” arms have yet to be installed.

The front suspension is now completely assembled and we have the car sitting on the ground with the new tires. The body was adjusted with shims to align the doors. Shimming old car bodies to align doors takes a little time and patience. You can either use washers or frame webbing or both.
The shims are placed on the body mounts so they are held in place. You just have to experiment with the amount of shims and where to shim to get the best fit. By adjusting the front cowl mounts with shims can either raise or lower the doors. Also shims can be placed at the front or rear of the quarter panels to adjust gaps and fit.

The car looks great. The last time it was rolling on tires was when it was delivered for restoration.

The rear of the car looks incomplete without the lower rear quarter panels installed. We have started the rust repairs to the lower panels and you should see an article or two on the repairs.
